Taking in 1.2 million votes from music fans, spectators and members of Dave Grohl's fan club, triple j's Hottest 100 is unequivocally the world's largest annual music poll conducted by a government funded radio station broadcast on a national holiday. As an event that is nothing if not this country's finest musical institution, it deserves nothing but the most careful analysis of its contents; an analysis that could only be done via the internet's foremost critical tool - the animated GIF.
