ebay items thread

devo  said about 7 years ago  or at  6:06PM on Tuesday, August 1 2006 in chat

I just purchased a kreator - pleasure to kill T-shirt.

I remeber being 16 and wanting one of these T's so bad but the only one you could get was a very poor quality bootleg, god dammit can't wait till it arrives.

Anyone else buy stuff today?

Will this be a gig tshirt or kept hermetically sealed devo?? Or a pin on the wall job?

I need to block ebay on my router to stop buying bullshit.

Oh I'm wearing the fucker as much as possible. I've been having an 80's speed/black/death/thrash metal revival of late. I got a hellhammer T a couple of weeks ago.

I'd really like an original Optimus Prime. But not much in the way of old-school-non-shit-characters on ebay.

Came home to find 3 parcels on the doorstep (all 1960s tiki mugs).
I bought a dymo labeler this morn, my third in as many days.

But what I really want now is these:
retrodrawingbooks

Buy my guitar - listing says local pickup only but am prepared to buy a hard case and ship (at cost).

It is a sweet Fender.

Don't you hate it when you see something you've been after for a while (and could have bought for US$10 if the stupid label had added you to their mailing list) and with a couple of days to go it is still reasonably priced at US$9 but with a couple of hours to go blows out to over US$30....

i'm getting quite addicted to ebay, it's the first website that has rivalled m&n. problem is the $ involved...

not just a timesink but a hole in the wallet.

Not quite what the thread is for but seemed the most relevant place to ask:

Long story short - bought an item on Nov. 5. It was meant to arrive Nov. 20 at the latest. It never came, various back-and-forths with the vendor where he eventually promised, in writing, that if it hadn't arrived by last Wednesday I'd receive a full refund. The item didn't arrive by then so I sent my bank details and asked for the full refund.

As of yet, the refund has not been forthcoming and the item just arrived today (a month late) - would it be shitty of me to continue pursuing the refund? I feel like, given the crap service and fact they did promise it if the item hadn't arrived by a certain day, I'm well within my rights. That being said, I'm a horribly polite person in general and I feel like it may be hard to manufacture the anger to make the request, now that I finally have the item.

Thoughts/advice/random slurs?

Captain Oblivious  said about 4 months ago:

Depends, did the late delivery make the item worthless/useless to you? If it did then pursue the refund. If it still has some value or use then i'd just give them a shitty feedback score.

Urquhart Bluff  said about 4 months ago:

Was it from overseas? If so it's not their fault it just got held up in some postage Bermuda Triangle and resurfaced. Don't leave a shitty feedback score.

moribunderast  said about 4 months ago:

Well, they claimed it was coming from NSW but it did arrive with a Customs Note. The late delivery hasn't rendered the item (a microphone) useless really, but a lot of the writing and recording I was doing (with a vastly inferior mic) was halted as I was waiting to record with the better item. As such, a Christmas collection of sketches/songs I was planning to record is unlikely to get done. That one's partially on me, I know, but I didn't want to waste time engineering things I'd just have to re-do once the new mic arrived.

Urquhart Bluff  said about 4 months ago:

Hmmm. So the seller was in NSW. Did it say the item was there as well or was it being shipped from an overseas warehouse?

moribunderast  said about 4 months ago:

I bought the item on November 5th. When I bought it, delivery was listed as November 15-21 but the geographical location of the item wasn't mentioned. It arrived this morning, making it 18 business days later than it's supposed latest arrival time - nearly a month in terms of the calendar.

Captain Oblivious  said about 4 months ago:

That's a pretty big gap. I'd at least leave a shitty score on postage and delivery.

carwashhair  said about 4 months ago:

I would ask for a partial refund (say of the postage amount) - if they haven't flagged the location of the item in description/terms of sale, you would reasonably assume it was coming from NSW. Postage mishaps often happen, but you have been inconvenienced and the seller hasn't worked too well with you thus far.
