Adalita, AiH On Board For Wiggles Tribute
Spiderbait, Washington, Sarah Blasko, Adalita and Oh Mercy will pay tribute to one of Australia’s most successful bands. No, not Temper Trap, but The Wiggles, who are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.
Rewiggled features 20 Wiggles classics interpreted by acts including The Living End, Jebediah, bluejuice, Frenzal Rhomb, Clare Bowditch, The Snowdroppers, Busby Marou, Papa VS Pretty, The Audreys, Dead Letter Chorus, Angie Hart, Sons of Rico and Architecture In Helsinki, although cynics may argue they've been covering Wiggles songs for years. It’ll also feature a Wiggles mash-up by Sampology.
The collection will be released through ABC Music – who have put out the Wiggles’ records since day one – on November 4.

That's a pretty impressive list of bands. You'd jump at such good exposure to new parents looking for relief.
And Sampology is very good and his track will be very good, I wager.
no Steve Balbi?
I would've been impressed if they got Bloodduster on board. they'd be perfect.
can't believe no one is playing 'Dorothy the Dinosaur'
would've been perfect for HTRK

Just imagined this in my head. Was amazing.
genius
''For British Eyes Only''
album cover's a bit meh for such an amazing project.
I'm getting ready to wiggle with Adalita.
yeah the album cover is lame.
the wiggles dudes have terrible in-house designers, no surprise there
I guess I'm well out of the target market. This looks largely heinous. There are perhaps two or three songs I would be curious to hear.
do many of these artists actually have kids?
(not that it's a prerequisite - just curious)
smells like an audacious cash-in to me. lame.
Would you rather ''Reverse Rewiggled''?
The Wiggles cover songs originally by each of these musos?

Yes.

Yup.
yawn
I'm going to go right out there and say the cover is actually ok... but the cd looks like one of the biggest ''cash-in'' turd ideas I've seen in a while.
The cover just seems like an ill fit with the bands on the record in my opinion - it looks more like the cover of a generic dance album rather then a line-up of ''alternative'' artists - the line-up does seem to hark back to the days when ''alternative'' was considered a genre in its own right. I predict that some of this album will be good, whilst most of it will be extremely shit. Could have been made more cohesive by selecting bands for their musical merit rather than ''what the kids listen to these days''.
My Dad is on this album, so yes Columbo, at least one of them has kids.
I find this Whole thing troubling!
It's also kind of funny that the Wiggles have probably made more dosh than all the artists on this cd combined

BRW Top 50 earners, you know..
I used to work for their accountant's wife. ''More money than they know what to do with'' was the quote, I believe.

ah ok! nice :)
This is fucking awesome news! Best way ever to get my 3 yr old into indie bands.
(not directed at you sheik, just remembered it after though)
As appealing as a plate of cold spaghetti...
I am clearly out of sync with the zeitgeist.
All of the above points are well made, but as a band.. this probably would have been pretty fun to do.
I bet the Frenzal song is awesome. If only Tom weren't on it.
cynics may argue they've been covering Wiggles songs for years The entire inspiration for AiH is the 'round the twist' theme song
boring
My sister in law will buy this album.
Anon - I know that article is a (good) pisstake, but seriously for a sec: I want my kids to be out of touch with the bullshit part of their generation, if that means they don't know who justin bieber is, fine. I had no idea who the current pop stars were when i was in early high school. But I had loads of friends who were into 60s stuff. I was out of touch with the mainstream consumers, and very in touch with music fans.
